Alistair King | King James • South Africa
Alistair is founder and Creative Chief of King James, an Independent communications group that is creatively ranked in the top 3 in South Africa. Alistair has long held the belief that no creative person should become fixated on advertising, and no agency should only make ads. As such, he also owns a record label, a book publishing company and a popular culture magazine called One Small Seed™. He’s been ranked as one of the top 3 creative directors in South Africa for 6 years running and was named Financial Mail Agency Leader of the Year in 2008. He has judged on many panels including Cannes Lions Film and the African PEN Literary Prize. He lives in Cape Town with his wife, 3 dogs, 3 cats, an olive oil and a 1st edition Book collection, Grant Parker | DDB London • UK
Grant trained as an Art Director at Hunt Lascaris TBWA in Cape Town, before moving to London in 1998. He has been at DDB London for 10 years, and Head of Art there for the last 3. He has been lucky enough to work with Patrick McClelland, and then Joanna Wenley on campaigns for Nikon, Heals, Harvey Nichols, the Guardian, Volkswagen, Marmite, Philips. And a less successful campaign for a foreign Tourist Board. He is currently working on his own. Farrokh Madon | McCann Erickson • Singapore
In a career spanning Singapore, Amsterdam & India, Farrokh has garnered over 150 prestigious creative awards, including a D&AD Silver Nomination and Best of Show at AdFest (Asia-Pacific’s premier advertising awards competition). 2008 was a very successful year for Farrokh. He got 3 entries into the D&AD Annual, 2 Spikes (highly coveted Asia-Pacific awards), and a Merit Award at the One Show for the work he’d done in his former agency BBDO Singapore. His current stint at McCann Erickson has been just as successful with the agency winning 3 Merit Awards at the One Show, 3 Silvers and a Bronze at the Asia Interactive Awards and a strong finish at Singapore’s Creative Circle Awards, which included a rare Gold Award. This year, Farrokh was a judge at AdFest & has been invited to judge at Cannes. Nuno Jerónimo | Ativism • Portugal
After a few years working as a journalist he moved into advertising, starting as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather and then, three years later, moving to Publicis. In 2000 he won the Young Creatives Competition and went to BBDO Portugal, becoming Creative Director in 2003, and staying at the agency until the end of 2008. During that time, BBDO was Agency of the Year in the Clube de Criativos de Portugal 8 times. After leaving BBDO, Nuno spent six months teaching advertising in a public university then, in 2009, joined Ativism, the largest communications group in Portugal. He became global Creative Director of 11 agencies in fields as diverse as online, design, corporate events, brand entertainment, public relations, shopper marketing, teambranding, media, production and, of course, advertising. Over the course of his career, Nuno has been named Best Portuguese Copywriter 3 times. He has won about a dozen effectiveness awards and more than 70 advertising awards at the major national and international advertising festivals. |
