The making of the Unicorn Award – Part I

  November 14th, 2009 by Andre

Our first unicorn award is being created. And it’s a rare creature. If you’ve been following this blog you know that a new version of the Unicorn will be designed every year, so each year’s award will be totally and entirely unique. And you can follow the progress of this year’s rare beast on the Blog.

So here is the first post, in the artist’s own words:

‘Hi there, I’m Robert – http://robertcervera.wordpress.com/ – the guy making the trophy for the inaugural Unicorn awards. This is fun. It’s like conducting a psychological experiment to see what happens to creatives when they become clients. So far, my subjects (Clive and Andre) are behaving swimmingly, Nike and Adidas-style.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been actually doing. I started with some sketches, then I got my hands dirty trying different possibilities and put some roughs in the kiln. Now, to see how they came out you’ll have to wait for the next post: The Making of the Unicorn Award – part 2. You may even see something closer to what you could win
