The making of the Unicorn Award – Part II

From Robert:

‘My first prototypes came out of the kiln just fine. So I made six good unicorns, thinking ‘Blimey, I’m so on the safe side it’s not even funny’. I sent four of those heroes in, but what was supposed to be a routine mission turned into carnage.

The main hypothesis is that the clay was still a bit wet inside. No time for tears, though. There were still two unicorns standing and the mission would proceed. They’re on the kiln now, so wish me luck, otherwise no prize.’

No prize!!! We all wish you luck, mate.

The making of the Unicorn Award – Part I

  November 14th, 2009 by Andre

Our first unicorn award is being created. And it’s a rare creature. If you’ve been following this blog you know that a new version of the Unicorn will be designed every year, so each year’s award will be totally and entirely unique. And you can follow the progress of this year’s rare beast on the Blog.

So here is the first post, in the artist’s own words:

‘Hi there, I’m Robert – http://robertcervera.wordpress.com/ – the guy making the trophy for the inaugural Unicorn awards. This is fun. It’s like conducting a psychological experiment to see what happens to creatives when they become clients.

68 and counting

  November 14th, 2009 by Andre

That’s the number of countries that visited the One Shot homepage. From Singapore to South Africa.
Most hits coming from the United Kingdom and Portugal, closely followed by the United States and Spain. With the other end of the spectrum being occupied by Georgia and Pakistan.

It’s weird but wonderful to think that someone in Pakistan, in the past couple of months, turned on his/hers computer only to end up at the One Shot Film Festival homepage. Pretty special I think.

Thanks, whoever you are.

It had to happen.

We’re not accepting entries anymore. Now it’s up to our prestigious judges to go through all the 83 (not bad) one shot ads.

Around the 20th of November we’ll release the shortlist which will be shown on the Cinemad 09.

Thanks to everyone who entered and good luck.

The One Shot Film Festival and Alex Boguski

  September 24th, 2009 by Andre

It’s always nice when you get mentioned alongside someone or something good.

This time it happened to Alex Boguski, who was lucky enough to be mentioned in the same blog post as the One Shot Film Festival.

It came out in one of the most respected british advertising blogs (and the one with the longest name too), written by Ben Kay:

ifthisisablogthenwhatschristmas

And you can share it with all your friends. Please. For Alex’s sake.

69

I know, it’s a bit childish. But hey, we reached 69 films and it’s as good a reason to celebrate as any other, I think

Thanks Isaac, you’ll be forever immortalized as entry number 69 in the first One Shot Film Festival. How do you feel about that?
